Below is a post by Tony Greenstein on his own blog.
For reasons of ill-health, Tony's cutting back on his activism. I'm sorry about the ill-health, but less so about the cutting back. Since I've been around, Tony Greenstein has engaged in just about the most vicious, bigoted and hate-filled Jewish ethnic activism I've ever come across - all the more strange (and worrying) when one considers how personable Tony can be on meeting.
A lot of his post is the usual obsessional stuff about Gilad Atzmon, but that doesn't much interest me. Nor am I that interested in Tony's boasting about the weakening of Israel that has, according to him, taken place over the years. Sure, the public view of Israel is way more negative (and realistic) than it was, but still, a few points need to made.
Firstly, blah, blah, blah and blah.... but in the meantime, life for the Palestinians just gets worse and worse and worse and secondly, Israel's not the problem - it's a symptom of the problem.
Sure, according to Norman Finkelstein, American Jews are going off Israel, but perhaps this is because Israel has turned out to be a bit of a liability and it's time to move on. (Actually, I feel rather sorry for ordinary Israelis. After all, it's not Abe Foxman doing the dying (such as it is) and it's not Alan Dershowitz watching his kids drop phosphorus bombs on children in Gaza.)
But back to Tony. What really interests me is Tony's boast that PSC is now free of anti-semitism. This just isn't true, in fact the opposite is true. No-one hates Jews more than those who have lost all self-respect in bowing down to them which is just what the PSC leadership has done and secondly, in 'freeing the PSC of anti-semitism, Tony has also rid the PSC of any real opposition to Israel, Zionism and Jewish power.
So to (badly) paraphrase Tacitus (...solitudinem faciunt, pacem appellant. ...they make a desert and they call it peace), Tony, you've created a Zionist-occupied zone and you've proclaimed it correct.
But let's give the last word to Gilad.

Time to say Goodbye
Over the past 3 months, posts have become rare on this site. Other commitments have compounded this problem.

Time to say GoodbyeAs Anti-semitism in the Palestine Solidarity Movement has all but vanished the purpose of this blog has become redundant
Over the past 3 months, posts have become rare on this site. Other commitments have compounded this problem.
When the Blog started in January 2008 Gilad Atzmon, supported by the Zionists, was running wild over the solidarity movement entrapping not a few people who believed that what Israel was doing was a consequence of something inherently Jewish rather than the Zionist settler-colonial movement. It is like saying that White Supremacy in South Africa had something to do with the genetic make-up of the coloniser
Today, except at the fringes, Atzmon is a discredited figure. In 2012, a holocaust denier Frances Clarke-Lowes was expelled from PSC to the fury of the Zionists and Harry’s Place. As I argued then, Atzmon was a deliberately divisive character whose main objective was to cause disharmony inside Palestine Solidarity. He failed.
As BDS goes from strength to strength – with Stephen Hawking, the latest prominent figure to join the campaign, Atzmon rails in his seclusion, making ocasional outbursts attacking BDS as being 'Jewish'.
In May 2013 the situation has changed. Indymedia woke up, the original cause of allegations of anti-Semitism and eventually learnt the lesson. The movement has taken off. My greatest privilege was speaking at UNISON’s 2007 and 2008 AGMs where a total boycott was passed by over 80%. of conference.
